Keynote Speaker – Abby Seixas
The Deep River Within: Reflections on Spiritual Life in a Speed-Obsessed World

Since the publication of her highly acclaimed book Finding the Deep River Within: A Woman's Guide to Recovering Balance and Meaning in Everyday Life, longtime psychosynthesis practitioner (and former introvert) Abby Seixas has been interviewed for television, radio and print media, and has given dozens of talks in a wide range of settings about the need to nourish the soul in our non-stop culture.

In the keynote address, Abby will share highlights of her Deep River process for recovering balance and meaning in daily life, as well as some of her “tales from the front lines” as she has worked to bring the beauty of psychosynthesis principles to a time-starved, spirit-seeking public. Abby Seixas is a psychotherapist, author and speaker specializing in issues of life balance. She offers workshops, retreats and individualized coaching as well as her popular “Deep River”™ groups.

Her television appearances include NBC’s The Today Show and the Hallmark Channel, and her work has been featured in O. The Oprah Magazine, Self, Woman’s Day, Body + Soul, The Boston Globe, Palm Beach Post and Contra Costa Times. Abby studied psychosynthesis with Roberto Assagioli and has practiced psychosynthesis-oriented psychology for more than twenty five years. She has been a clinical trainer and supervisor at training centers in the United States and abroad, including England, Netherlands and Russia. She is the mother of two grown children and lives with her husband outside Boston, Massachusetts.

Why Attend?

To deepen your knowledge about Psychosynthesis, and to explore its connections with some other therapeutic approaches. Explore for yourself why in 1958 Abraham Maslow encouraged Roberto Assagioli in the publication of his book of basic writings, why Jack Canfield (co-creator of Chicken Soup for the Soul series) includes Psychosynthesis as one of three therapeutic approaches he recommends.

Investigate a psychology that influenced such diverse people as:

  • Rachel Naomi Ramen, MD., (Author and co-founder of Commonweal) Virginia Satir, (noted Author and Therapist) Debbie Ford, (Author and Expert in Personal Transformation)

  • Michael Murphy and Richard Price, (Esalen Institute co-creators).

The presenters at this conference are working for healing and transformation in their own lives, in the lives of their clients, in organizations, and in the world. Most of the presentations combine theoretical with experiential learning components.

The annual AAP Conference rotates to different regions of the country and is scheduled once every three years in Western North America. We invite you to join us in celebrating the 50th anniversary of Psychosynthesis in North America.
