Frequently Asked Questions about the 2010 AAP Conference

Where is the location of the conference?
We are holding the conference at Techny Towers Conference and Retreat Center in Northbrook, Illinois, (www.technytowers.org). It is located approximately 20 miles NE of downtown Chicago, 12 miles from O'Hare Airport and 33 miles from Midway Airport.

What transportation is available to and from the airport?

Shuttle: Techny Towers does not offer a shuttle to and from the airport. However, if you indicate your arrival and departure times on the registration, we can put you in touch with others arriving around the same time in order to ride share.

What is the cost of the Conference?

*The above includes all meals during that time frame but does not include overnight accommodations.

There are additional costs for the Pre-Conference and/or Post-Conference which will be outlined on the website as of March 1st.

Are there scholarships / work study available?
Yes. These will be outlined in the conference brochure. For further details at this time, please contact conference@aap-psychosynthesis.org

Are there overnight accommodations at Techny Towers?
There are 50 rooms available in the Towers with private bath, and 22 single rooms with common bathrooms available at the adjacent Maria House. All rooms are air conditioned and have telephone and voice mail. The prices below are available before and after the conference as well.

Can I bring my family to Techny Towers?
This facility is primarily a conference center and has no recreational areas for children. Near-by alternative accommodations would be more appropriate for families.

What are some alternative accommodations to Techny Towers for families with children?

Red Roof Inn, $60 (847) 205-1755 (closest - 3 1/2 miles). They will arrange a shuttle to Techny if in a group.

Baymont Inn, $59 (847) 635-8300, (6 miles away). Continental breakfast available, no restaurant on premises but many nearby. No shuttle available.

Renaissance Inn, $65 (847) 498-6500 (3 1/2 miles away, has restaurant on site for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Shuttle available for groups.

If I am coming alone, can you help me find a roommate?
If you need assistance finding a roommate, please indicate this on your registration and we will be happy to coordinate this.

Will meals be provided at the conference?
All meals for the main conference (Friday dinner through Sunday lunch) will be provided and are included in the conference pricing. Any dietary restrictions or concerns must be noted when registering for the conference. Meals are the Chef's choice and served buffet style.

When will I be able to register for the conference?
On-line registration will be available as of March 1st. Conference brochures will be mailed out in mid-March, and you may register by mail as well.

If I am there without a car, can I get into the city easily/cheaply?

Will I be able to use my laptop / internet there?
Internet access will be available.

Can I purchase books on Psychosynthesis at the Conference?
There will be a bookstore on-site offering books and other materials for purchase.

Will I be able to talk to someone at the Conference about AAP and other resources?
We will have a resource center available for information.

Are CE's available at the conference?
There are a multitude of CE's available, and these will be outlined in the conference brochure and website.
